A private well sits outside a public water utility's monitoring and reporting, so treatment is the homeowner's responsibility. The whole profile is handled in one system, specified from what your own well shows.

Two systems, split by iron level

Standard well system, iron up to 7 ppm

from $3,999. Air injection handles iron, minor sulfur and manganese for wells with moderate iron, the kind that shows up as light staining on fixtures. Includes a pre-sediment filter. No chemical injection needed.

Heavy iron and sulfur removal, iron above 7 ppm

from $5,499. For heavier iron, a strong sulfur smell, or a slimy film in the toilet tank, which is a sign of iron bacteria. Uses hydrogen peroxide injection, which you refill yourself at roughly $70 a jug, plus a carbon tank, softener, RO and pre-sediment filters. Our most heavy-duty well option.

We never guarantee 100% iron removal on well water. We set honest expectations for what your specific well needs.

What a loaded well system handles

• Iron (yellow-brown staining), oxidized so the filter can catch it: air injection on the standard system, hydrogen peroxide on the heavy-iron system.
• Sulfur smell knocked down by catalytic carbon, and by peroxide on the heavy-iron tier.
• Hardness with the same softening resin used on city systems.
• Bacteria, where a sample shows it, with a UV stage (add-on).
• Dissolved solids with RO at the tap, remineralized.

How a well is assessed

A private well has no public utility report behind it, so we work from what you can describe: staining, smell, and any sampling you have already had done. That is an estimate, and we say so. If anything about the install turns out different on the day, you approve any price change before work starts.

One watch-out we'll always flag: if you have a pool on a separate well line, we keep it off the system. Tying it in burns through the media quickly. Keeping it separate is what makes your system last.
